Jade Star Deaf Bible Translation & Community Transformation

Since 2011, the Jade Star team in Southeast Asia has been bringing God’s Word to a Deaf community of around 270,000 people in their heart language. Alongside Bible translation, the team provides trauma healing and Deaf arts workshops that strengthen identity, healing, and community. Japan Sign Language Bible Translation

For nearly 300,000 Japanese Deaf people, Japanese is a foreign language. Unlike hearing people, Deaf individuals must study intensely to understand it. Reaching Japan’s Deaf community with God’s Word requires a Bible in Japanese Sign Language. Since 1993, the JSL Bible project has worked to translate Scripture into JSL to meet this critical need.
