Across Africa, people are blocked from fully experiencing God’s love in a language that speaks to their heart.
You can help change that.

Partner with SIL Africa to enhance its capacity to effectively carry out its mandate of translating the Bible into local languages and fostering meaningful Scripture engagement by strengthening key areas such as translation quality, literacy, community involvement, technical skills, and resource development—ensuring that people flourish in their communities using the languages they value most.

Project Objectives:
Improve Translation Processes

Offer advanced training in translation theory, language analysis, and cultural context to enhance the quality and accuracy of Bible translations in underrepresented languages. This leads to higher-quality translations that faithfully reflect linguistic and cultural nuances.

Foster Community Engagement

Equip local leaders and communities to actively participate in the translation process, ensuring that translations are relevant, culturally appropriate, and impactful. This strengthens community ownership and deepens engagement with Scripture.

Develop Technical Expertise

Equip local teams with the skills to effectively use translation software, digital platforms, and tools for Scripture distribution and engagement. This ensures resources are accessible, user-friendly, and widely available—promoting broader and more effective use of digital tools for Scripture access and engagement.

Strengthen Organisational Sustainability

Strengthen fundraising and partnership-building strategies to ensure financial sustainability and expand the organisation's outreach.
